Zamin Ferrous is an international group registered in Jersey with offices in London (UK), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Montevideo (Uruguay) and Zug (Switzerland). Zamin has a world-class portfolio of iron ore projects primarily in Latin America. The Company's strategy is to become a leading supplier of blast furnace and direct reduction iron ore pellet fines to the global steel industry.Zamin’s also intends to extend its interests to include minerals related to the broader iron production and supply chain. For this, a diversification into the production of energy minerals such as coal is planned.In order to achieve the successful diversification, a number of highly qualified and experienced individuals in the exploration, development and mining of coal deposits are sought:
Coal / Iron Ore Field/Rig GeologistsThe PositionKey Priorities for this role include:
- Geological mapping
- Drill core and chip logging and sampling
- Geophysical logging
- Geotechnical logging of drill core
- Data acquisition, manipulation and management
- Ensuring the quality of data collected
- Liaising with team members heavy involvement in contributing to the field based aspects of the exploration programmes
Ideal Candidate Profile
- A BSc. in Geology
- Initial geological experience in mineral exploration (between 12 – 18 months experience in a similar role)
- Geological mapping experience and working at a drill rig (core and/or chip logging and sampling)
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team
- Good organizational, interpersonal and computer literacy skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Compensation
- Base salary corresponding with a senior management position
- Performance related incentives
